Glenorchy Farm lies within a small glen, identified in Jim Crumley's book The Great Wood as the heart of the ancient Caledonian Forest. Over time, the landscape has been overtaken by Sitka and Larch plantations, though remnants of the original forest still remain. Scroll to read more about this fascinating project.

About
This project aims to restore a piece of ancient forest. Over 30 hectares of land have been set aside for planting a diverse range of native species, including Downy Birch, Alder, Sessile Oak, Scots Pine, and more. The goal is to enhance biodiversity and create vital habitat corridors for wildlife such as Red Squirrel, Pine Marten, Otter, and Golden Eagle.
The new woodland will also serve as a natural screen, blending with the surrounding landscape and Sitka forests. This effort aligns with the Argyll and Bute Woodland and Forestry Strategy, promoting net woodland expansion, carbon sequestration, and the restoration of semi-natural habitats. Management will focus on allowing trees to mature naturally, with minimal intervention as they self-thin over time.

FAQs
How much should I contribute?
The amount you invest is up to you. It can be as little as supporting one tonne of carbon, or an entire woodland!
If you'd like to match your membership to a specific activity, for example, your organisation's Scope 3 emissions or a flight you took recently, we recommend working towards a science-based estimate. If you'd like to contribute something in the meantime, while you're processing all of that data and making those calculations, here's some guidance on what your approximate footprint might be.
Please note: using nature-based investments to allow BAU (or life as usual) is not our recommended approach. Behaviour change and business decarbonisation are essential too.
Who is behind the Carbon Club? How do I know if I can trust it?
The Carbon Club is powered by Forest Carbon, one of the UK’s most established and experienced woodland and peatland project developers. We’ve been around since before there was even a standard in place to regulate the sale of carbon credits in the UK (so we helped to develop one). You can learn more about our experience and story here.
Looking to support a whole project? Need more than 300 tCO2?
